About
Welcome to Casa Nostra, nestled in the heart of El Cerrito, Tuxtla Gutierrez, where Italian culinary traditions meet a cozy Mexican charm. Located at 1a Sur Poniente, Calle 11A. Pte Sur #1178, this charming restaurant has quickly become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. You can reach them at +52 961 611 2874.
As soon as you step into Casa Nostra, you are enveloped by an Italian atmosphere that radiates warmth and hospitality. The rustic decor, lovingly curated by the owner, creates a quaint and inviting environment that feels both unique and familiar. Reviewers are enchanted by the attentiveness of the staff, particularly the friendly waitress Angie, who goes the extra mile to ensure every guest feels welcome, even extending her charm in English for non-Spanish speakers.
The star of the show, however, is undoubtedly the food. As attested by numerous satisfied patrons, the pizzas here are magnificent. The traditional wooden oven adds an authentic touch, infusing each pie with a rich flavor profile and a delightful crunchy crust. Whether you’re sharing a pizza (which, according to Renaud HUGUEVILLE, is ample enough for two), the experience is elevated by the delightful homemade dressings of basil and tomato sauce—a complimentary amuse-bouche that enhances anticipation for the main course.
Sharon Castillo captures the essence of Casa Nostra perfectly, describing it as a "super cute place" where every detail seems crafted with care. The dishes speak for themselves; homemade and bursting with flavor, they reflect Italian culinary principles without excessive saltiness or simplicity. The love for genuine Italian cuisine is palpable from the first bite, making it no surprise that Juan Francisco Capunay hails it as serving the best food he has tasted in Mexico, rivaling even some of his experiences in Europe!
For those seeking a delightful dining experience accompanied by amazing flavors and a homely touch, Casa Nostra is undeniably a must-visit in Tuxtla Gutierrez. With every meal, you will feel the passion and dedication of the team, eager to provide a slice of Italy that resonates with every guest.
“ Excellent pizza... 1 pizza for 2 people is more than enough! Restaurant with a very Italian atmosphere. The waitress, Angie, is extremely friendly and makes a great effort to speak English. I recommend it without hesitation. ”
“ It is a super cute place, the lighting and decoration of the place make it very cozy, everything seems to be made by the same owner, the rustic design if you understand that the food is homemade and of 0, not to mention the food, I did not even have time to take a picture because we devoured it , something that I love about Italian food is that it is not too salty or too simple, the bread here is delicious, along with its homemade dressings of basil and tomato sauce, they give you a courtesy when you arrive, so that you have something to start with what you expect, I loved it ”
“ Delicious and nice! ”
“ The best food I ate in Mexico was served at this Italian restaurant! The place is set in a ancient mexican house, it feels cosy and traditional with an Italian touch (pizzas are made in a traditional Italian hoven, with some wood sticks to make it work). The owners are very welcoming and charming, serving incredibly tasty Italian food, I didn't even found in Europe ! Great experience ! A must go in Tutxla ! ”
“ Really good pizza. One pizza was enough for two people. It was fresh and light with a crunchy crust. ”
“ Everything is delicious, I loved it! We ordered some tapas starter bruschetta of prosciutto and salame, then a mamma mia pasta that was delicious, a Farcito calzone that is truly worth every bite and a Mediterranean salad, and our clericot wine... Everything was delicious!! They don't accept card payment, but it's really worth anything! Good prices ”
“ Hidden gem? We had one of the best caprice salads anywhere. Very nice server. The pesto pasta was a bit too salty - next time I would ask if they can use less. Recommended! ”
“ Their spaghetti and meatballs has been the only meal I have had in Tuxtla that I can say is as good or better than what I have had in other parts of Mexico or US. This is now a restaurant I will visit whenever I am in town. ”
